UPDATE: IGAD denies postponing meeting over security arrangements in Addis Ababa

The Office of the Special Envoys for South Sudan of the East African regional bloc IGAD have denied that a meeting between the South Sudanese parties scheduled to take place in Addis Ababa has been delayed.

South Sudan's former Justice Minister John Luk, a member of the SPLM 'Former Detainees', earlier told Radio Tamazuj that a meeting of the IGAD peace mediators with the South Sudanese warring parties over implementation of the recent peace deal was postponed. Luk said the meeting was supposed to be held on Wednesday in Addis Ababa, but the mediators informed them that the meeting was postponed.

The member of the SPLM-G10 group pointed out that the IGAD mediators did not inform them about a new date set for the next meeting.

Haile Michael, IGAD Communications Officer denied this saying that the report of the delay to the event is "completely wrong and incorrect." He affirmed that the meeting will start Wednesday, 21 October and continue to 26 October.
