Khartoum denies strained relations after attaché's Juba house looted

Ali Al-Sadig, the spokesperson for Sudan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has denied reports of strained relations between Khartoum and Juba following an armed robbery of the home of Khartoum's military attaché in Juba last week.

In a Monday press statement, al Sadig said Sudan is the most serious country to establish normal and healthy diplomatic relations with South Sudan. He stressed the importance of implementing the joint cooperation agreements signed by the two countries.

Al Sadig said the foreign ministry in Khartoum has not yet received details from its embassy in Juba about the incident at the military attaché’s house.

Last week, Sudan's Charge d'Affairs in Juba, Majdi Ahmed Mufadal told Radio Tamazuj the gunmen looted some belongings and harmed three people in the house.
