UN South Sudan chief Løj urges peace in Warrap

The head of the United Nations' peacekeeping mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) Ellen Margrethe Løj urged the people of Warrap state to avoid violence and find peaceful conflict resolution.

Løj spoke during a visit to Warrap state capital Kuacjok on Tuesday where she met with governor Nandeng Malek Dielic and the state council of ministers, according to a UNMISS press statement.

"The people of Warrap and of this country deserve peace and stability, and I encourage people across the state to refrain from violence and to foster community dialogue and resolution of conflicts in peaceful ways,” Løj said.

Warrap state has experienced intercommunal violence lately particularly in the greater Gogrial area.
