Local youth in Palooc County in South Sudan’s Western Lakes State have rejected the appointment of the new county commissioner who replaced John Madak Dut.

Isaac Magual John, a youth leader in Palooc County, told Radio Tamazuj on Friday that the new commissioner is very young and inexperienced.

He claimed that the former county commissioner had made major reforms in the county, especially in the areas of health and education.

“As youth, we reject the appointment of Dhieu Mading as the new county commissioner and we have informed the governor, but he has not responded to the will of the people,” he said.

State officials could not immediately be reached for comment.
