The Mayor of Tonj town, Anei Madoor Maluacdit, has issued an order banning night clubs from opening temporarily owing to security fears in the town.

 “The purpose of this order is to officially ban the night clubs in Tonj municipality due to the ongoing insecurity situation and to prevent possible nurturing of crime rates in Tonj town,” partly reads the order.

The official pointed out that the ban will continue for three months. “Any person found carrying out similar businesses in Tonj town would face a fine not less than 10,000 South Sudanese Pounds and immediate closure of the business,” said Anei.
