At least six South Sudanese children were abducted by gunmen in a road ambush in Torit West County of Imatong state while travelling together with their families to Kenya’s Kakuma refugee camp on Tuesday, a Christian leader said.

Pastor Mathew Dhel told Radio Tamazuj on Thursday that suspected Murle tribesmen attacked a vehicle carrying families travelling to Kakuma camp and kidnapped six children.

Dhel pointed out that two of the abducted children are his relatives.

The incident occured barely four days after an attack carried out by suspected Murle tribesmen in Lui area in Torit West County.
