Schools in Raja town in South Sudan’s Lol State remain closed because teachers and pupils fled to Sudan’s East Darfur State after the recent attack by rebels on the town, a local official said.

Lol’s Minister of Information Omar Isahaq told Radio Tamazuj on Monday that although the state government resumed its work officially, the schools are still closed due to lack of teachers.

The minister called on all teachers and pupils to come back to Raja town. Omar pointed out that the state government is working to provide security to the local population.
