Opposition governor of Yei River state names new government

The rebel-appointed governor of South Sudan’s Yei River state, Matata Frank Elikana, last week issued a series of decrees appointing new ministers, county commissioners and secretary general of the state government in the SPLA-IO controlled territory.

The appointed ministers and other officials are:

1. Wezime George, Minister of Local Government, Law Enforcement and Human Resources Development.

2.  Brig. Gen. Peter Lujo, Minister of Information, Telecommunications, Broadcasting and Postal Service.

3. Asio Moses, Minister of Finance and Economic Planning

4. David Lissi, Minister of Health

5. Brig. Gen. Tereka Nixon, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry

6. Kenyi Morris Nasona, Minister of Education

7.  Jiki Alex Bond, Minister of Mining and Natural Resources Development

8. Edward Michael Kamba, Minister of Humanitarian Affairs

9. Alfred Lomoro Edward, Minister of Ethics, Integrity, Gender and Social Development 

10. Nelson Modi Joseph, Minister of Youth, Culture and Sports. 

11. Hon. Lt. Col. Wayi Godwill Edward, Spokesman in the Office of the Governor

12. Lewi Aligo Mursale, Secretary General of Yei River Government

The opposition governor also issues another decree appointing new county commissioners in the rebel-controlled areas in Yei River state.

The appointed commissioners are:

1. Charles Bakata, Commissioner of Yei River County

2. Erasto Kenyi Gale, Commissioner of Kajo-Keji County

3. Amule Samson Masiete, Commissioner of Lainya County 

4. Eluzai Luate Ezekiel, Commissioner of Morobo County

The opposition governor urged the newly appointed officials to recruit competent people to protect and promote unity among the people of Yei River State.
