One killed in fresh inter-communal violence at UN camp in Juba

One person was reported killed and scores injured in a fresh inter-communal fighting between two groups from Unity State at the UN camp in Juba on Wednesday.

A camp resident who identified himself as Charles Riek Wal told Radio Tamazuj that a 20-year-old man was killed when two communities fought at the UN camp on Wednesday.

“I am talking as an elder and one of the eyewitnesses,” Charles said.

He explained that the fighting was a continuation of misunderstandings that started last week at the UN camp.

For his part, Koang Luak Hoth, chairman of the UN PoC3 in Juba, confirmed that dozens of people were wounded during fighting. “Many people were critically injured,”he said.

He pointed out that the situation returned to normal today.
