Abuor Gordon Nhial, the newly appointed minister of education in South Sudan’s Aweil East State has assumed his duties after appointment by the state governor.

Governor Deng Deng Akuei in September issued an order moving Abuor from the local government and law enforcement agencies. The new official replaced Kiir Majok who was moved to the ministry of local government from education.

The handing over ceremony was held at the state secretariat in Malualkon, the administrative headquarters of the new state on Wednesday. The event was attended by several government officials including ministers.
