A medical officer was shot by unknown gunmen in Bul County of Northern Liech State on Tuesday after returning from duty station in Abyei, a local official said.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj yesterday, the state security advisor, Gordon Malou, said Jal Wal Reech was shot on Tuesday but later succumbed to his wounds and died in Bul County on Saturday.

He pointed out that Jal was working as a doctor at Agok Hospital in Abyei.
