Kiir sacks undersecretary of foreign affairs ministry, appoints new official

South Sudan’s President Salva Kiir has removed Joseph Ayok Anei from his position as the undersecretary of the ministry of foreign affairs and replaced him with a new official.

President Kiir, according to the republican order announced through the state-owned South Sudan Broadcasting Corporation (SSBC) on Friday evening, appointed Baak Valentino Wol.

Ambassador Baak had served in different missions, including deputy head of South Sudan embassy to the United States and China and director general for bilateral relations.

He was previously the principal liaison officer for South Korea at the ministry of regional cooperation before South Sudan independence from Sudan in 2011.
