The Joint Monitoring and Evaluation Commission (JMEC), a body tasked with overseeing implementation of the signed peace accord in South Sudan, announced that it will hold a plenary meeting on Wednesday in Juba.

According to a statement issued by JMEC and seen by Radio Tamazuj on Tuesday, Festus Mogae will present a report to the board members, including representatives of the unity government, South Sudanese stakeholders, IGAD member states, and international partners.

Last month, Mogae said South Sudan faces a crisis of hunger that is undermining all efforts to make peace. He urged the unity government to ensure the safety of those who deliver humanitarian relief to the needy people across the country.
