The governor of Aweil East state has issued an administrative order splitting the ministry of information, technology, youth, culture and sports and appointing the new minister of youth.

Governor Deng Deng Akuei, according to the order which became public on Monday evening, has appointed Daniel Akol Diing as the new minister.

Akol was a Member of Parliament at Aweil East State Legislative Assembly. He had served as a minister for parliamentary affairs in the government of Northern Bahr el Ghazal before it was split into three separate states through presidential establishment order in October 2015.

The new minister also was the government chief whip at Aweil State Legislative Assembly Aweil and the former Director for Alternative Education System before joining politics in 2010.
