At least six people who hail from Maban area were killed and four others wounded after an attack by an armed group in Paloich area in Northern Upper Nile state on Tuesday.

Southwest Maban County Commissioner Luk Sadallah Deng told Radio Tamazuj yesterday that the wounded people were receiving treatment at Paloich Hospital.

Sadallah said the gunmen are suspected to be from Malut County, citing a recent misunderstanding over the border between the communities of Maban and Malut.

He called on the national government to quickly intervene and resolve the border dispute saying the state government is not able to resolve it.
