At least five people including two women were shot dead in an armed attack near Jambo area of South Sudan’s Amadi State last week, according to multiple sources.

The attack occurred on Wednesday August 23 when gunmen ambushed a vehicle in which the five were travelling in.

The incident has since caused panic among local residents, traders and aid workers in the area. The local residents called upon armed groups to stop targeting civilians.
