South Sudanese refugees from Yei River State who are currently living in northern Uganda have complained about acute shortages of food and drinking water at camp refugee camps in the area, a religious leader said.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Monday, Episcopal Bishop Emmanuel Mori Modi, who visited the refugee camps recently, said the South Sudanese refugees who fled violence are experiencing harsh humanitarian conditions in Rhino, Bidi-Bidi and Morobi camps in northern Uganda.

Emmanuel pointed out that the refugees are suffering due to shortages of food, drinking and shelter for women and children.

He appealed to humanitarian organizations to intervene and help the needy before the situation deteriorates further.
