The governor of South Sudan’s Yei River State David Lokonga Moses has issued a gubernatorial degree creating two new ministries in the state.

The governor of South Sudan’s Yei River State David Lokonga Moses has issued a gubernatorial degree creating two new ministries in the state.

The newly established two ministries are for rural development and gender.

Yei’s information minister Alfred Kennedy Duku told Radio Tamazuj on Thursday that the decision to create more ministries aims to deliver services to the people of the state.

 “The governor had issued a degree for creation of two new ministries which are ministries of rural development, water and cooperative and ministry of gender, child and social welfare,” Kennedy said.

Bullen Amos Soro was appointed minister for rural development, water and cooperative and Cecilia Peter Modi was appointed minister of gender, child and social welfare.

Governor Lokonga issued another decree appointing Margret Meling advisor for gender, child and social welfare.

In a separate decree, Lokonga appointed Apollo Loboka Gordon as the new commissioner of Kangapo County replacing Sadaraka Pudo.

Lokonga also issued approved the appointment of six members of state parliament.

The new MPs are Mathatias Nehemiah Almas, Francis Lokwat Stephano, Amos Longa Modi, Michaya Daudi Awu, Aloro Cyprus Rufas and Drani Joseph Timon.
