Yei River state citizens are calling on the South Sudanese warring parties to embrace the spirit of negotiation and compromise in the on-going High Level Revitalisation Forum in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia for the sake of peace in South Sudan.

Some of the citizens who spoke to Radio Tamazuj said both the government and other opposition armed groups to bring peace to South Sudanese who have borne the brunt of the war that started since 2013.

“We need peace, our kids have been displaced they don’t get education or health services and many communities have been forced to leave their homes, war should stop,” Victor Saeed said.

Another resident who identified herself only as Sadia said, “People cannot cultivate and they can’t move around due to insecurity while the economic situation is deteriorating.”

“We are tired of losing our kids and relatives during this never ending war, they should bring peace,” she added.

The second round of peace talks between the government and opposition groups started this week in Addis.
