Hillary Luate Adeba, the Episcopal Bishop of Yei Diocese has urged all South Sudanese to unite and reconcile with one another during this year’s Christmas and New Year period.
The Bishop, in a Christmas message extended to Radio Tamazuj, said all Christians should commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ in good faith, despite the economic and political challenges facing them.
“We are celebrating this Christmas not far from that of last year because we are still in the same situation where the economic situation is very dire and people have lost all their belongings in the war,” Luate said.
“We should not add trauma and stress to ourselves because of the lack of basic materials for celebrations,” he added.
Adeba appealed to the public not to overspend money during the festive season and be vigilant over their personal security.
