Yambio-Uganda road cut by rains

The road between Uganda and the state capital of Yambio in Western Equatoria State has been cut by rains, causing a fuel shortage in Yambio town.

Speaking on UN Radio Miraya today, State Minister of Commerce, Trade and Investment, Simon Ngbidigi said, “We have experienced a fuel shortage in Yambio and in Western Equatoria in general for the last two weeks now and this is due to the road condition.”

“All the roads connecting our border with Uganda and the road connecting Western Equatoria with the capital Juba are all cut off and it has badly affected our markets,” he added.

Ngbidigi noted that the road condition has affected public services at hospitals and in other sectors.
