Residents of Duduma, Masumba and Akorogbodi areas in Yambio County of Gbudue State on Wednesday called on the government and all armed groups in the country to immediately cease hostilities and embrace pace and stability in South Sudan.

The local Women for Change Association with support from SUCCESS organised a one-day forum at Yambio Civic Engagement Centre that discussed issues affecting women and solutions to the problems.

Among the issues raised included insecurity, leading to loss of life and massive displacements, sexual gender based violence, rape and family conflicts.

Mrs. Wenepaida Hipaifura, one of the participants encouraged both men and women to stop all forms of abuses against each other.

Another participant, Peter Kelliona said the absence of peace in the country has created hostility among South Sudanese. He therefore called on all South Sudanese to embrace peace and love amongst them.

The Acting Executive Director for Women for Change Association, Samson Enosa, said the participants included both men and women because they are the main causes of problems and can therefore propose ways in which the problems could be solved.

He also urged married couples to remain faithful to their spouses to avoid family conflicts.
