Yambio records one death during Easter Celebrations

Authorities in Yambio Town of Western Equatoria State said one death case has been recorded during the Easter holidays in the area.

The death was recorded from a road accident around 9:00 PM when two motorcycle riders collided at Suk Siro in Yambio Town.

The deceased has been identified as Gimo Samuel, a 31-year-old woman.

Lt. Col. Santo Arkangelo, the Traffic Director of Administration, Finance and Registration in the state, told Radio Tamazuj on Tuesday that the culprit has been arrested and is now under police custody.

Arkangelo also appealed to relatives of the victim not to revenge over the incident.

“At 8 to 9 PM at night, I received two incidents, one in a place called Suk Siro, surely we lost one woman called Gimo Samuel,” Arkangelo said.

 “I am appealing to the relatives of the victim; I don’t need problems from you again because we have the perpetrator with us including his motorcycle. So after the funeral, you will come for the case of the decease,” Arkangelo said.

The official added that another minor accident was recorded in Suk Pouzo and the injured are receiving treatment at a medical facility in the area.

Arkangelo urges riders, drivers and pedestrians in the state to pay attention to traffic rules.
