A Digital Skill for Human Capital Development team arrived in Wau town of Western Bahr el Ghazal State from Juba on Friday for a feasibility study on modernizing agriculture in South Sudan.
The project is being undertaken in collaboration with the University of Bahr el-Ghazal’s Faculty of Agriculture.
Addressing the media after meeting the governor, the Project Director, Kay David Kay, disclosed that the Digital Skill for Human Skill Development is a World Bank-funded initiative.
“This is a World Bank-funded project for building digital skills for human capital development. It is being implemented through the Ministry of Higher Education in partnership with our universities,” said Kay.
He said the project will be implemented at the University of Bahr el-Ghazal, and that their visit was to do an assessment of the facilities to establish any need for reestablishment or renovation.
The team from Juba included gender-based violence specialists and engineers.
“We are very grateful to the governor for her reception of the seven team members,” Kay added.
The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Bahr el-Ghazal, Irieneo Barnado Uci, assured the delegation of support.
“The University of Bahr el-Ghazal is very grateful to receive you, particularly for this project. It will be fantastic for the capacity building in the university and we are ready to cooperate with you,” he said.
