Workers in Western Bahr el Ghazal relocated due to 28 states decree

Hundreds of workers in South Sudan Western Bahr el Ghazal are objecting to their relocation to Lol state.

It is the latest issue sparked by a controversial decision by President Salvia Kiir to change the number of states in South Sudan from 10 to 28. Some have critisized the plan because it changes the boundraies of state boarders.

The workers said the relocation to Raja, Lol state, should take place on an administrative basis, and not be motivated by tribal differences.

The complaint came after the Director General of Ministry of Labor and Public Service in Lol state asked his counterpart in Wau to relocate the workers, and to send their salary.

Workers from Raja held a meeting with Wau state governor Elias Waya on Tuesday, saying the decision would destroy the social fabric of the community.
