Religious and community leaders from Central Equatoria’s Wonduruba Payam are translatng a peace document signed recently between an SPLA commando unit and local citizens into Bari language.

Wonduruba leader Lugga Steven said Friday in Juba that the deal must be disseminated among the community members who fled to other parts of the state after alleged SPLA attacks against them.

He said they want to share the document with displaced civilians living in Lainya, Yei, Ganji, Ku’da, and Bereka, and that the translation should be finished within a week.

Lugga said the Central Equatoria governor earlier told them they will bring police and prisons officers to Wonduruba so citizens can move back, but they are waiting for another meeting with the state leader.

Lugga said some citizens have begun to venture back to Wonduruba to assess the situation and bishops have met to discuss how to repatriate people to their homes.
