The Women's Union in South Sudan’s Wau State has, in cooperation with South Sudan Red Cross Society, organized two weeks' training on first aid for 46 women.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, the acting chairlady of the union, Teresa Pasquale Madut said the training will help women and young girls get first aid skills to help their families and the society.
She appealed to the women to take advantage of the training.
On her part, the head of Red Cross Society in Wau, Angelina Anthony Ubur urged women to look for training opportunities.
The Director General at the State Ministry of Social Welfare, Ann Daniel lauded the initiative and stressed that it is important for mothers to have first aid experiences to help their families.
The training, which started on Wednesday, will last for two weeks.
