Women in Yambio call for peace and stability in South Sudan

More than 20 women in Yambio town on Wednesday called upon citizens, government and armed opposition groups to embrace peace, dialogue, reconciliation and stability in all parts of the Country.

More than 20 women in Yambio town on Wednesday called upon citizens, government and armed opposition groups to embrace peace, dialogue, reconciliation and stability in all parts of the Country.

The women made the call during Women’s Induction on Advocacy Concepts workshop at Yambio Civic Engagement Center which aims to train and prepare women on advocacy concepts.

The participants stated that the women and children are vulnerable group during conflicts. The participants reiterated calls to end hostilities and embrace dialogue which will pave ways for peace and harmony in South Sudan.

For his part, Ripai Justin Kizito, Acting Executive Director of Community Organization for Peer Educators (COPE) said that the workshop is to allow the women to advocate for issues affecting them and how they can discuss with relevant authorities.

Kizito added that his organization will continue to sensitize the communities on Women Induction on Advocacy Concepts through public awareness through Radio talk show among others.
