Woman stabbed to death by cattle raiders in Torit

A woman was stabbed to death when armed men attacked a cattle kraal located south of Torit town of Eastern Equatoria State on Monday.

A woman was stabbed to death when armed men attacked a cattle kraal located south of Torit town of Eastern Equatoria State on Monday.

The incident occurred along Ketire road.

Major General Victor Odong, the commander of the army’s division 7, told Radio Tamazuj that the raiders’ footmarks went eastward.

“At about 1:00 am last night [Monday], criminals came, entered the house of a woman and stabbed her to death. They also took 21 herds of cattle tied on wood. Soldiers are still following footsteps of the raiders. The incident happened near the barracks,” he explained.

Odong vowed to ensure that the perpetrators are brought to book.

The police spokesperson, Major Justine Kleopus Takuru confirmed the incident and identified the deceased as Esther Alisama Aliaba.

He further said those who raided the cattle came in large numbers.
