The incident occurred at Kubur William in Abiriu area.

Machar Chol Daljang, the executive director of Abiriu area in the defunct Gok State, told Radio Tamazuj that the deceased was a breastfeeding mother.

“The deceased was called Amakou Majuong and we suspect her killer comes from the neighboring Agar community in the defunct Western Lakes State,” he claimed.

Chol, however, said the situation around the crime scene is stable.

For his part, William Machar, the executive director of former Malek County in the defunct Western Lakes State denied his community’s involvement in the attack that claimed a woman’s life.

“We have no one from Malek area who went to Kubur William and killed a woman. This incident occurred among the Gok community of Abiriu,” Machar explained.
