A 20-year-old woman committed suicide by hanging herself in the town of Bor in South Sudan’s Jonglei state on Monday morning, according to police authorities.

Philip Ayuen Awur, the inspector of police in Bor town, told Radio Tamazuj on Tuesday that the young lady hanged herself at Panapeer neighborhood.

He pointed out that the primary investigation confirmed that the woman committed suicide for reasons yet unknown. However, he said the police will continue the probe.

“The deceased had not written anything to show why she killed herself, so we are still investigating the incident,” said Ayuen.

The police official noted that the deceased left behind two young children.
