Police said a wildlife officer and his security guard were killed on Friday during an attack by unknown gunmen on a motorcycle along the Juba-Bor road.
Major Daniel Tuor, Jonglei State police spokesperson told Radio Tamazuj that a motorcycle was attacked by unknown assailants near Mangalla town, killing a wildlife officer and his security guard.
“The two men were riding a motorbike from Juba to their duty station in Badingole. But after reaching Khor-Makuac, they were shot and killed,” said Daniel Tuor. “We don’t have more details about the incident.”
The Juba-Bor road has been a scene of recurring attacks on passengers for years.
Earlier this month, at least five people were killed and several others injured along the main road linking Bor to Juba.
