Wife concerned over missing husband in Juba

The wife of First Lieutenant Lual Akoon, who was reportedly arrested by security forces near Juba, is concerned about her husband’s whereabouts.

The wife of First Lieutenant Lual Akoon, who was arrested by security forces near Juba, is concerned about her husband’s whereabouts.

Nura Chawul told Radio Tamazuj on Sunday that her husband was arrested by security forces near the capital Juba last week.” Lual was arrested together with Kuany Atuer, Diing Baak and Alan Makeer,” she said.

“After he was arrested, he sent me a message saying he was arrested. So I do not know his whereabouts until now,” she added.

The wife pointed out that her husband had travelled from Uganda to Juba over the last three weeks. “Lual spent one week in Juba, but he was informed that there were people looking for him because of his links to Malong Awan. Lual left Gudele and he headed towards Aweil, but he was arrested near Luri,” she explained.

She called on the government to clarify the charges leveled against her husband. “We do not know Lual’s whereabouts. We want to know his whereabouts and his health condition as family members,” she appealed.
