White Nile villagers suffer impact of floods

Floods from the Khor Abu Habal have destroyed farms and houses in Rawat, White Nile State, resulting in a harsh humanitarian situation, sources from the region reported.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj, the sources added that the residents of Rawat are suffering from high prices of commodities like sugar and soap.

They also asserted that a large number of cattle have passed away and 350 houses were destroyed completely, in addition to the spread of diseases such as malaria and infections.

There were no humanitarian organizations that came to assist, with the exception Plan Sudan organization which distributed mosquito nets and tents to those affected by the floods.
