Authorities in Sudan’s White Nile State have expressed concern about the recent influx of South Sudanese refugees into the area.
They say there is a lack of new sites to accommodate additional conflict-affected people.
At least 30,000 refugees arrived in White Nile in June, according to head of the refugees’ coordinating committee Al Tayib Mohamed Abdullah.
Al Tayib said they held a meeting on how to provide food, shelter, and health service to them. He said his committee will report to the Humanitarian Aid Commission about difficulties finding new areas to accommodate new arrivals.
900 tonnes of food have been recently delivered to the South Sudanese refugees at Joda and Renk area. The food was brought by the coordinating committee, local organizations, and the World Food Programme.
