The World Food Program has reiterated its call for the release of a staff member who was abducted more than a month ago from Malakal.
Mark Diang was taken by plainclothed men from the town’s airport on 16 October and no one from WFP has heard anything from him since.
“We are gravely worried about Mark’s safety and we will not rest until he’s been found,” said WFP Country Director Joyce Luma in a press statement.
The statement acknowledged that Diang’s abduction has forced the agency to reevaluate its security procedures, including restricting some operations.
