The Governor of South Sudan’s Western Lakes State, Matur Chut Dhuol, on Saturday issued a series of gubernatorial decrees appointing new ministers, two state advisers and other officials after removing the old cabinet members and other senior government officials.
According to the decree, Governor Matur appointed Abraham Meen Kuc as the new minister of local government, Madong Mourwel Nyot as the new minister of information, Mabor Meen Wol as minister of finance and Kedit Madol Kedit as the new minister of physical infrastructure.
Other members of his cabinet include Dut Makoi Kuok as new minister of education and social development, Victoria Stephen Anip Majur Achut as the minister of health, and John Thon Kuat as minister of agriculture representing other political parties in Western Lakes State.
In a separate decree, the governor appointed Benjamin Akol Mourwel Deng as security advisor and Elizabeth Poth Dumic as peace and reconciliation advisor.
He also appointed Mangar Matoc Machar as commissioner of state headquarters replacing Sunday Ater Malith. Zeckariah Gum Ater was also appointed as executive secretary in the governor’s office replacing Mabor Chawup Mabor.
The state official also named Mabor Makuach Ater as Eastern Bahr Naam County Commissioner and Sunday Ater Malith was appointed as Rumbek town clerk replacing Peter Akuc Ater.
Matur also appointed Dut Riak as director general at the ministry of finance replacing Makur Machut Malual, and Akim Makuer Gol as director general at the ministry of health replacing Michael Samuel Mading.
