In a statement seen by Radio Tamazuj, the State Ministry of Public Service announced a three-day mourning for the death of Yambio MP Hezekiah Phillip from the 6th to the 8th of September, 2022.

“The state leadership with great sorrow has declared three days mourning in respect of the death of Honorable Hezekiah Phillip Tuu as from September 6th to 8th September 2022, work resumes on Monday 12th September 2022,” the statement issued by the ministry read in part.

Hezekiah Philip died in the Ugandan capital Kampala last week. His body was flown back to the country and arrived in Yambio town on Monday.

Hezekiah was elected as MP in the 2010 general elections and appointed as MP in the Western Equatoria State legislative assembly on the SPLM ticket representing Yambio under the revitalized peace agreement.
