Western Equatoria State Governor Gen Alfred Futuyo Karaba on Thursday suspended his Finance Minister, William Adriano Baiki, in a State Order No. 19/2024.
While the reasons for the suspension was not mentioned, Baiki was among the three ministers given seven days to report to the state for their duties.
A letter seen by Radio Tamazuj, signed by Governor Karaba, reads: “This order may be cited as State Order No. 19/2024 for the suspension of William Adriano Baiki from his position as State Minister of Finance, Planning and Investment, Western Equatoria State, due to his being absent from the office for some months without resolution from the Council of Ministers or the Governor.”
“The order will be lifted when he returns to the state and gives satisfactory explanation,” it reads further.
Governor Karaba appointed Bazia Tito Morris, the Minister of Public Service, to act in the Finance docket.
