The government of South Sudan’s Western Bahr al Ghazal state signed an agreement Wednesday with the administration of the contested Abyei area between Sudan and South Sudan.
Western Bahr al Ghazal Governor Rizig Zachariah Hassan and Abyei chief administrator Chol Deng Alak agreed to cooperate in health, education, media, and training for government employees in Abyei area.
Governor Rizig said he is ready to implement the agreement. Chief Chol said his administration will cooperate to implement the terms and conditions of the agreement reached by the two sides.
He also thanked the governor for hosting Abyei citizens in Wau town.
