Government employees in in Sudan’s West Kordofan State have a reason to smile after the government paid them 50% of Eid al-Adha bonus and clothing allowance arrears of 2017.
In a statement on Thursday, Abdel-Azim Asil Al-Tijani, head of the workers’ union in the state said the national government paid the employees’ arrears after protracted negotiations with the union.
He pointed out that the national ministry of finance has promised to pay the rest as soon as possible.
Separately, Asil said they have signed a contract with the national worker’s union to transport more than 20,000 bags of sugar to West Kordofan to be distributed to government employees during this month of Ramadan.
