Primary and secondary schools in Sudan’s West Kordofan State face closure from Wednesday, 23 November after the union of teachers announced details of strike action over delayed salaries starting from tomorrow.

In a letter handed to the state ministry of education seen by Radio Tamazuj on Monday, the union said that the government of West Kordofan failed to pay 651,295 SDG for the teachers.

The union pointed out that the strike came after multiple initiatives with the authorities failed, saying the strike will start from Wednesday until Sunday.

The regulatory body threatened that the teachers will resume their strike if the government fails to meet their demands.
