Failure to spray pesticide on West Kordofan farmlands has negatively affected the past agricultural season, according to Ad Dabab residents.
Farmers and citizens say the state Agricultural Ministry tuned a “blind eye” when they complained pests were destroying their crops.
“Swarms of bird have finished up the sorghum which is the main food that people depend on in the area,” a local source told Radio Tamazuj.
Residents fear a “humanitarian crisis” due to soaring prices of sorghum in the market caused by its shortage.
