At least one man has died and another three people injured when a 60-meter borehole collapsed at a gold mine area in El Gorud west of the South Kordofan capital Kadugli last week.

At least one man has died and another three people injured when a 60-meter borehole collapsed at a gold mine area in El Gorud west of the South Kordofan capital Kadugli last week.

The wounded miners were taken to Kadugli Hospital for treatment on Friday.

A source told Radio Tamazuj Monday that residents are trying to remove the dead body trapped under the debris.

Police have produced Form Eight allowing health authorities to carry out their task.

In February 2013, about 11 people were killed when two gold mines collapsed east of Talodi in South Kordofan.
