Western Bahr al Ghazal state governor Rizig Zacharia has ordered a review of 152 non governmental organizations (NGOs) in the state, accusing some of being “opponents” to the government.
Rizig instructed the Ministry of Gender and Social Welfare Development to review the mandates of all NGO and civil society groups in the state.
He said some civil society groups have become opponents to the government, while others have done little toward achieving their mandates, Voice of Hope reported.
The governor also warned NGOs against working as business enterprises.
