Wau traders point to stagnation in state economy

Several traders in Wau town, Western Bahr el Ghazal State have complained of a recession and decline in purchasing power in the market.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj, shop owners noted that plenty of goods are coming from Sudan and Uganda despite poor roads, but the purchasing power of consumers at Wau market has dropped.

The traders attributed the problem to delay of salaries of civil servants. They predicted improvement of the situation after payment of salaries.
