A conference on education kicked off in Wau town in South Sudan’s Wau State on Tuesday with the purpose of improving the education sector in the state.
The event was attended by National Minister of Education and Instruction Deng Deng Hoc and Wau Minister of Education Rugeya Madut as well as several government officials.
Speaking at the conference, Rugeya Madut, State Minister of Education, appreciated the national minister of education for participating in the forum.
For his part, Minister Deng Deng said education should be the country’s priority. However, the official said the plan cannot be achieved without peace and stability in South Sudan.
“My message to our people in Wau and the entire country is that education is very important and without education our country will not develop,” said Deng.
“Education is important at the personal level, community level and the country at large. We should be serious and make sure that our kids get a good education and they will be well educated, and we should also live in peace, because without peace there is no proper education or development,” he added.
