Several suspects arrested in connection with the robbery of the Wau Agricultural Bank in South Sudan’s Western Bahr al Ghazal state were released due to lack of evidence.
In late October, thieves allegedly drugged the bank’s night guard, broke in, and stole 518,774 SSP before escaping.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj Friday, bank director Makur Machiek stressed that police authorities are working to apprehend the real criminals as soon as possible.
The authorities are working tirelessly so that the criminals are arrested and then taken to the court, he claimed.
Makur predicted an increase in robberies in South Sudan if authorities fail to arrest the perpetrators.
