Wau state police authorities are calling on police personnel in the state to shun politics and embrace their core mandate which is to serve the civilian population.
Police Commissioner Major General Samuel Ajwong Achor in Wau also warned politicians to stop inciting police officers for their own personal and political interests.
"The police should be in the service of the people and not political leaders, because you cannot be a policeman and at the same time serve both police and politics," he said.
The police chief warned that any police officers found involved in political issues within Wau state will be expelled from the service, adding that they will enforce strict laws and disciplinary action against such officers.
