Wau County Commissioner Elia Kamilo Dimo has yesterday accused local youths who refused relocation of Wau County headquarters to Baggari area of involvement in the killing of Chief Angelo Baggari and his wife this month.

Elia told Radio Tamazuj that the police authorities released two of four suspects who were arrested during investigation processes.

He said the other two suspects remained in police custody. The county official identified one of the suspects as Anthony Sokni, head of the local youths who rejected the relation of Wau County headquarters to Baggari area.

Elia claimed that the perpetrator involved in the killing of the chief has already been identified. The official said that the accused is called Bobai from the Zande tribe, saying he committed the crime with the help of somebody called James, one of the sons in the area.

The killer might have received a sum of money to kill the chief and his wife, according to Elia. The commissioner revealed that the police found a letter written by hand at the scene of the incident.

Elia claimed the one who wrote the letter was later identified as Peter Olango who was convicted in Wau incidents in 2012. Olango was imprisoned for several years before escaping from the prison two weeks before the incident of killing of sultan Baggari occurred, according to the county official.
